NEWCOMERS Buxton will contest a six-team National Development League next season.
The Derbyshire club are returning to league racing for the first time in eight years and will be rebranded as the Bulls. Reigning champions Oxford, Edinburgh, Leicester and Middlesbrough are back for more, while King's Lynn make the switch from the National Development Trophy. Buxton and King's Lynn replace Belle Vue Colts and the joint Scunthorpe/Sheffield team, who have dropped out of the competition. It was confirmed at the third tier AGM on Tuesday that clubs who do not take part in the NDL league structure must take part in at least one alternative, such as the Midland Development League or the Northern Junior League, or stage a National League Riders' Development Individual, Second Half Open Invitation or a standalone British Youth Championship Round. • Full coverage of the NDL AGM in next week's Speedway Star.
