DANISH prospect Niklas Holm Jakobsen will be a new face in the Cab Direct Championship next season after agreeing a contract with Workington.
The 18-year-old will have fellow countryman Jonas Jeppesen to turn to for advice in his debut campaign in Britain's second tier. Comets owner Andrew Bain said: “We’re really excited to bring Niklas to Workington. For a rider of his age, he’s already accomplished a lot and has been competing in very strong leagues and that tells you a lot about his ability and potential. “This will be his first season in British speedway so we know there will be a learning curve, but he’ll have vastly experienced riders around him throughout the season to help him develop even further. “Northside is a great place for young riders to progress and we believe this move could be the start of something very special for both Niklas and the club.”
