LEICESTER'S Dan Thompson sustained a broken collar-bone during Bank Holiday Monday's Premiership home win over Northampton.
The British star fell on the fourth bend of Heat 10 during Lions' 57-33 victory and handed on his shoulder. Hospital X-rays have confirmed the break, which is a major setback to both the Lions and Thompson's Championship club Edinburgh. Thompson said: “Unfortunately, I can confirm I’ve sustained a broken collarbone. “I’m absolutely gutted. I’ll need some time to recover properly. At this stage there’s no clear timescale on a return. “Thank you to everyone for the kind messages and support – it really means a lot.”
