KYLE Howarth has revealed that he is taking a break from the sport.
The Leicester and Glasgow rider has stood down from his commitments with the Lions and Tigers with immediate effect, both clubs being granted a 28-day facility. Leicester co-promoter Stewart Dickson said: “Kyle has spoken to me and has been honest and up front that he’s not really enjoying his speedway at present, and he is taking a break from the sport. “He is a rider who always wears his heart on his sleeve and we actually spoke a couple of weeks back, because I had an indication that he hasn’t been enjoying his racing this season as much as in previous years. “We accept his reasons and he leaves with our best wishes to him, his dad and his mechanic Sharpy who have been a pleasure to work with these last few years.” Glasgow boss Cami Brown commented: “Kyle has had a bad run of injuries and illness this season, plus the fact he’s due to be a dad again any day. He has a lot going on which is difficult if you’re not in top condition and fit to compete. “Kyle has been a brilliant servant for us and always gave us 100 per cent so we acknowledge his honesty if he can’t give us his best.”
