THE World Championship race will go to a three-way shoot-out in the final round in Torun after Britain's Robert Lambert won Saturday's Danish Grand Prix in Vojens.
Lambert was declared the winner on the basis of being top scorer at the end of 20 heats after rain halted the meeting before the semi-finals and final could be completed. The 20 points banked by the British Champion were enough to move him to the top of the overall standings, one point ahead of defending champion Bartosz Zmarzlik and three clear of Brady Kurtz, to set up a thrilling finale in Poland on September 26. Lambert said: “It just shows that speedway is so unpredictable and you never know what will happen. If you put your best leg forward, hopefully things will work out. “Looking at it as a whole, the season has been super great for me, and I am going to be very thankful for whatever colour medal I get. “It’s all going down to the last round and it’s super interesting. It will be great for the spectators and for us racing for it too. It’s all open for the gold, silver and bronze medals. I’m looking forward to it.”
