THE 2027 British Grand Prix will be staged at Ipswich – and next year's World Championship series will conclude at the Australian track Gillman with a two-meeting double header in October.
Those were the headlines from the official announcement of the 2027 SGP calendar prior to Saturday's final round of this year's series in Torun. Warsaw and Croatian circuit also return to the itinerary. Mayfield Sports Events founder Richard Coleman said: “One of the main questions we have received from the fans since we acquired the championships a year ago is when we would be going back to Australia, so it is an absolute pleasure to make that dream a reality in October, 2027. “This truly is a special time for Australian speedway and there could not be a better moment to bring the series back to the country where the sport was born over 100 years ago. “I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone at Gillman Speedway, the South Australian government, Motorcycling Australia and our partners at Monster Energy and the FIM for their support in making this happen. It has been a real team effort, and this is a special day for the sport Down Under. “It’s great to welcome Warsaw and Donji Kraljevec back on to the SGP calendar for 2027 and it’s a pleasure to continue working with our local organisers in Prague, Wroclaw, Riga, Vojens and Torun once again. “It will also be exciting to see the best riders in the world head to Ipswich’s Foxhall Stadium for what I am sure will be an unforgettable weekend for motorsport fans from Suffolk and beyond."
