BELLE VUE cruised into the ROWE Motor Oil Premiership Grand Final in style with a comprehensive victory over Ipswich in Monday night's semi-final, second leg.
Holding a 14-point lead from the first leg in Suffolk, Aces were overwhelming favourites to go through and had sealed the deal mathematically as early as Heat 9 after a 5-1 from Zach Cook and Peter Kildemand. In the end, a 58-32 win on the night gave Belle Vue a dominant 110-70 aggregate victory. Team manager Mark Lemon said: “The boys executed to perfection really, to get a win away at Ipswich in convincing style, and the performances on the road this year have been tremendous. “Obviously to come home and finish it off in front of our home crowd was the perfect recipe, and we’re in the Grand Final which is an amazing achievement from the boys – but we’ve got some more work to do. “Whichever team we come up against, I have faith in these boys to do the job they’ve done all season. The processes and routine will be as normal, but just with a little bit more riding on it!” Either Leicester or Sheffield will be Belle Vue's opponents in the Grand Final but with the Tigers holding a 24-point lead ahead of Thursday's second leg in the East Midlands, it is the South Yorkshire club who will start as red-hot favourites to progress.
